Flooding has affected more than 1.17 million households across Thailand, while the capital Bangkok continues to grapple with rising waters.
Department of Disaster Prevention and Mitigation Director-General Nirat Pongsitthaworn said Sunday that heavy to very heavy rain across many parts of the country, combined with runoff from northern provinces flowing into the Central Plains, had left large areas inundated, according to the Bangkok Post.
Flooding continues across 27 provinces, affecting 154 districts, 1,209 tambons and 8,790 villages, as well as Bangkok.
More than 3.2 million people have been affected.
However, the latest figures show a decline from Friday, when flooding was reported in 31 provinces and Bangkok and had affected more than 1.24 million households.
