Samsung Electronics on Thursday forecast record third-quarter operating profit of 107.4 trillion won ($80.2 billion), as strong AI demand supports its memory chip business.
The South Korean technology company projected operating profit for July-September would rise 782.5% from about $9.1 billion a year earlier.
Revenue is expected to reach approximately $145.6 billion, up 126.6% from $64.3 billion in the same period last year.
The forecast would surpass Samsung's previous quarterly records set in April-June, when revenue reached about $128.1 billion and operating profit totaled $66.8 billion.
Compared with the second quarter, operating profit is projected to increase 20%, and revenue 13.7%.
Samsung earlier attributed its record second-quarter memory earnings to strong AI demand, a focus on server products and rising chip prices.
In its July earnings release, the company said continued investment in AI infrastructure and broader adoption of AI agents were expected to accelerate demand for server memory, enterprise storage and high-bandwidth memory during the second half.
It also expected supply constraints to persist despite efforts to increase production.
Thursday's guidance did not include results by business division. Samsung has scheduled its third-quarter earnings call for Oct. 29.
